Martin Corrie
Martin Corrie B.Sc., F.C.A
Senior Partner

Having obtained a degree in mechanical engineering Martin qualified as a chartered accountant completing his training with Price Waterhouse in 1976. He then gained banking experience working for Merrill Lynch, Bankers Trust and Barclays Bank.   .

Martin joined the practice in 1988 and became a partner in 1990. Martin became a fellow of the ICAEW in 1995. Martin acts for the firm as the financial services specialist advising individuals and companies in this complex field. . He also acts for various companies in the sporting arena and advises companies generally in the manufacturing and property sectors.

Martin is a keen sportsman with a particular interest in tennis.   He has also has been known to play a little golf.

Philip Dean
Philip Dean B.A., F.C.A
Audit Partner

Having obtained a degree in economics Philip qualified as a chartered accountant in 1992. He became a fellow of the ICAEW in 2007.

Philip joined Hicks as a manager in December 2001 and became a partner in October 2007.   Philip specialises in new business start-ups, limited company accounts preparation and audit.   Philip has a broad range of clients in many diverse sectors including retail, manufacturing, consultancy, property, construction, agriculture and financial services.   The majority of Philip’s clients are owner managed businesses but he also has a substantial number of clients with overseas connections with holding companies, subsidiaries and business interest in the USA, Europe, the Far East and Australasia.   Philip also looks after the affairs of clients in the not-for-profit sector including sports clubs and charities.

Paul Sadler
Paul Sadler
Tax Partner

Paul joined the firm in 2001 and was made partner in 2007. Paul trained with the Trust Company of a large multinational bank before joining Hicks. He is an associate of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales.

Paul is responsible for the tax and accountancy affairs of private individuals, sole traders and partnerships. He has broad experience in personal taxation matters providing advice on income tax, capital gains tax, inheritance tax and trust planning.  In addition Paul advises on employee share related schemes, property taxation and retirement related issues.

Paul is an interested follower of most sports especially cricket and is an occasional golfer.  He also enjoys travel. 

Jeremy Eyre
Jeremy Eyre
Practice Manager

Jeremy joined Hicks and Company as a trainee in January 1998.  He qualified as a Certified Accountant with first time passes in all his exams obtaining a wide experience in audit, accountancy and taxation.   Following qualification, the partners were delighted when Jeremy accepted the position of Practice Manager. At the start of 2008 he celebrated 10 years with the firm.
